Service Description
Rock Climbing and Confidence Bravery is a skill. Being brave is somthing one needs to train and practice. Give your students a safe place to practice being brave. Don't let the first time your student practices bravery be when it matters most and the consequences are real. In this unit students will gain both the competence and confidence that comes with mastering the basics of rock climbing. Students will expand their comfort zones by engaging in the positive stress of daily challenges, small group work, and challenge by choice. Students will learn to be brave by trusting each other and their equipment. They will practice being brave as an individual and being trustworthy as a teammate. Skills your student will learn during this unit: Mastery of climbing gear, Different forms of climbing, Basic and advanced knots, Mechanics of a climb, Creating an anchor system, Belaying another climber, Managing a climb site, Rappelling, Setting up and running a rappel, Safety and risk management, Troubleshooting common problems.
